Why investing in Mexican tourism is the best option

Mexico is currently ranked as one of the best countries to invest in tourism. A proof of this is that Merida surpassed Florence and Quebec as the best small city in the world to visit, according to Forbes. Also, it is the sixth most visited country in the world, with 39.9 million visitors a year, according to the OMT.

International tourism is steadily growing and at its best. In 2018, it experimented a growth of 6%, which represents 1.400 million of travelers around the world.

Nowadays, tourism represents the third source of income in Mexican economy. International investors are seeing that and are taking advantage of it. That is why foreign investments increased by 8.7%, which represented 21,300 million dollars. A specific example is the Maya train, where only 10% of the investment is local. The advantage for foreigners is the currency exchange.

Another example would be companies such as Grupo Posadas, Vidanta, City Express, Aeromexico, Xcaret, Pricetravel, among others, where foreign investment is important.
