Christmas is coming soon and everybody is preparing for the massive shopping. Customers are excited to spend large amounts of money in order to buy presents for all their loved ones… and shops are looking forward as well to be packed with loads of people in their establishments.

But, have you ever wondered how the marketing and publicity influences your Christmas shopping?


Nowadays, consumerism is in its highest levels in history, regardless recession in the global economy.

That is why the most effective marketing strategy for companies and brands is based on making believe the costumers that they really need the product they are selling.

Actually, the most effective ways to promote the products during this season are the social media, Christmas TV ads and street billboards.

Most of the companies follow a common strategy to sell the most quantity of products during this season.

Years ago, a new concept rose up in order to increase the Christmas sales. It consisted giving discounts for a complete weekend. In the USA it is called “Black Friday”, and later other countries took the idea and changed. For instance, Mexico has called it “El buen fin”.
